💛 Imagination Is Our Superpower, How We’re Learning as We Go

We didn’t start this as a business.
We started it as a spark.

A tiny robot made from a vintage camera, a pair of opera glasses, and some copper wire.
We called him Weebert.

And somehow, from that little robot, a whole world began to grow.

Weebert’s World wasn’t built from a business plan.
It was built from imagination,  and a lot of trial and error.

Andy and I are learning as we go.
This is our first business.

Andy spent 27 years in the army and another 16 working in aviation. I spent those 27 years with him and then 16 years in the public sector, managing, supporting, helping others lead, and learning how to adapt when life threw curveballs.

And now, in our 60s, we’ve thrown ourselves into something completely new.

We’re not trained entrepreneurs.
We’re a veteran and a writer trying to build a brand that encourages children (and their grown ups!) to play, explore, imagine, create, and believe that even scrap has value.

And along the way, we’ve discovered something that’s become our compass:

Imagination is our superpower.

It’s what connects everything we do,  Andy’s scrap-built sculptures, the children’s stories I write, our stop-motion animation in development, and the STEM outreach we’re growing in schools.

At first, it looked like lots of different pieces.
Now, we see it as one story told in many ways.

Andy’s sculptures don’t move, but they move people.
They spark memories, of tinkering with a grandparent, fixing something in the shed, or simply wondering “What if?”

The stories and animation spark imagination in children,  showing that creativity and curiosity can turn anything into possibility.

And our outreach connects those worlds, bringing children and adults together through creativity, sustainability, and play.

I won’t pretend we have it all figured out.
We’ve made mistakes. We’ve learned through trial and error.
But we’ve also learned that imagination isn’t just for children,  it’s for anyone brave enough to keep dreaming.

Because imagination doesn’t fade with age,  it grows when you give it space.

And those years as an army wife, and later in the public sector, taught me something I didn’t recognise at the time:
How to stay calm in chaos.
How to listen deeply.
How to create when you don’t have much to work with.

Those lessons are now the foundation of Weebert’s World.

Here’s what we’ve learned so far:

💛 Emotion matters.
People connect through feeling first, not facts.

💛 Purpose is everything.
When you know why you’re doing something, the how figures itself out.

💛 Curiosity is contagious.
Whether it’s a child with a handful of scrap or an adult rediscovering creativity,  that first spark is where change begins.

So yes, we’re learning as we go.
But maybe that’s the point.

Because when you show what’s possible with scrap,
you show what’s possible with people too.

And that’s what we want Weebert’s World to do,  to remind children and grown-ups alike that imagination is renewable, creativity has no age limit, and starting again can be the bravest act of all.

💛 Imagination is our superpower.
