Back to School with Weebert’s World: Bringing Imagination into the Classroom
The playgrounds are buzzing again. The uniforms are crisp (for now), and the chatter of children swapping summer holiday stories fills the air. There’s something about the first week back at school after summer that feels like a fresh start, not just for children, but for teachers, parents, and even grandparents too.
For us here at Weebert’s World, this new term brings a reminder of why we do what we do: to give children permission to play, explore, imagine, and create.
Because isn’t that what childhood is all about?
Why Weebert’s World visits schools
When Andy first started making the Berts, little robot sculptures built from scrap, it was never about business. It was about wellbeing. It was about turning something broken into something beautiful.
But then something unexpected happened. Children met Weebert and his friends and saw more than just robots made of old cameras, clock parts, and helicopter bearings. They saw possibility. They saw that imagination has no rules, and creativity doesn’t need expensive materials. It just needs freedom.
That’s why we now offer school visits, bringing Weebert’s World directly into classrooms.
During a visit, children get to:
-
Meet the Berts up close … from tiny Weebert to the bigger, quirkier Autoberts and Dinoberts!
-
Hear the stories that bring them to life … stories written to spark adventure and curiosity.
-
Learn what they’re made from … scrap with a past, given a new story.
-
Create their own ideas … because the best sessions are the ones where imaginations run wild.
One head teacher summed up a visit perfectly:
“Magical, educational and motivational.”
For us, that’s everything.
More than a reading
Yes, we read stories. But really, we’re giving children something much bigger: a doorway.
A doorway to play. A doorway to creativity. A doorway to see the world differently.
Children begin to ask questions like:
-
“What if I made my own Bert?”
-
“Could I turn this old thing into something new?”
-
“Can I tell my own story about it?”
And those questions matter, because they remind children that creativity isn’t a subject to be timetabled, it’s a way of seeing.
Tailored to your school
Every school is different. Some want us to link to STEM and show how engineering meets art. Others want us to focus on storytelling. Some want us to tie in themes like recycling or resilience.
That’s the beauty of Weebert’s World: it can flex to fit.
We work with schools to create a session that works for them, whether that’s a one-off storytime with the Berts, a hands-on “make your own Bert” workshop, or an assembly to inspire whole year groups.
Why it matters for teachers and parents too
We often hear afterwards that the children weren’t the only ones inspired. Teachers and parents tell us that they too felt a nudge to give themselves permission to imagine again.
Because play isn’t just for children. Creativity isn’t just for classrooms. And imagination certainly isn’t something you grow out of.
That’s the heart of Weebert’s World. It’s a world for all generations.
How to book a school visit
If you’re a teacher, parent governor, librarian, or community leader reading this and thinking, “We’d love that here” we’d love to talk to you.
It’s simple:
-
Go to our website. https://weebertsworld.com/product/parents-order-form/
-
Fill out the booking form.
-
Let’s chat about what will work best for your school.
Together, we can bring something magical into your classrooms this term. Something that lasts long after we’ve packed up the Berts and gone home.
Because one day, the child who meets Weebert might just grow up to design the next plane, invent the next gadget, or write the next great story.
And it all begins with imagination.
with love
