Family Means Everything — However Yours Is Made
Today’s going to be a special one.
All of us, Andy and me, our children, our grandchildren, and my mum and dad, will be together under one roof and (hopefully) in the garden. That’s four generations, cups of tea, toys underfoot, mismatched chairs, chatter, laughter, and probably someone forgetting where they put their glasses.
It doesn’t happen often. And I can already feel it coming, that moment when I look around and think, this is what matters most.
I’ll say, “My eyes are melting.”
It’s what our eldest son used to say when he didn’t want to admit he was crying during a Lassie movie. “Mummy, my eyes are melting.”
Same, love. Same.
These are the moments that remind us why we built Weebert’s World.
Why the Berts matter so much.
Why family, in all its forms, means everything to us.
👨👩👧👦 What “family” really means to us
Family isn’t just about who you’re related to.
It’s about showing up.
It’s the people who make space for you, who hold your dreams, who help you build.
We’ve poured so much of our own family into Weebert’s World, from the grandchildren who test our stories to my mum and dad whose values of making do, mending, and reimagining shaped every Bert that Andy builds.
And of course, Andy and I are the foundation, a team built through years of military life, parenting, and shared adventure.
🤖 The Berts are family too
The Berts aren’t just characters, they’re family.
They’re named after my great-grandfather Herbert, my mum’s grandad who could never throw anything away that might be useful. That way of thinking lives on in every single Bert: creative, curious, a bit cobbled together, and full of possibility.
Each one is built with a story, a memory, a nod to someone we love.
They’ve got quirks, personality, and plenty of mischief.
They live in our shed, our stories, and our imaginations.
JustBert was the first.
Skidoobedoobert rides a skidoo made from helicopter parts and vintage wheels.
and of course Weebert with his spy camera head and copper wire hair!
Barbara, the flying sheep, may or may not be loosely based on someone who always has her head in the clouds (and her feet in a tangle).
We love them all. Because they remind us that family doesn’t have to be perfect to be powerful.
🌱 What we’re really building
We thought we were building a children’s brand.
But what we’re really building is connection.
🧡 A world where children are free to play
🧠 A brand shaped by family values
🤝 A community that spans generations
Whether you’ve read a story, built your own Bert, commented on a post or simply followed us quietly, you’re part of this too.
🫶 However your family is made…
Whether big or small, chosen or biological, noisy or gentle, your family shapes what you build.
Weebert’s World is for every family who values kindness, creativity, and connection.
For every grandparent who tells stories.
For every parent who makes time to play.
And for every child, of any age, who believes that scrap can become something magical.
Today, we’re gathered as four generations.
And yes, my eyes are already melting.
Love,
Lotty (Andy all the family including the Berts) x
PS The family portrait needs an update we have a beautiful new granddaughter now. We are so blessed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
