From Scrap to Stories: Building Dreams with Weebert’s World

From Scrap to Stories: Building Dreams with Weebert’s World

Some days you wake up and realise, you’re not just building a business, you’re building a dream.
That’s exactly how it feels today at Weebert’s World.

We’ve got an exciting meeting with a recycling company to explore working together on their children’s outreach programme (fingers crossed!)  and this afternoon, we’re heading back to Coleham School for an after-school club with a musical version of The Adventures of Weebert the Robot: Robots, Chickens, and Dinosaurs!

It feels like one of those full-circle days,  the kind that reminds you why you started in the first place.

From scrap to story

Andy first began creating the Berts from bits of  scrap, old cameras, copper wire, and forgotten tools. Each sculpture had its own personality, a quiet story hiding inside it.
For him, it started as a way to turn something broken into something good.

For me, it was a spark.

I’d spent 27 years as an army wife, adapting, moving, starting again and again. I’d raised our family, supported others, and put my own dreams quietly to one side. But watching Andy bring these beautiful, whimsical robots to life made me realise imagination doesn’t disappear as we grow up, it just waits for us to notice it again.

One day, I began to write.
And that’s when Weebert appeared, a little robot made from a tiny vintage camera and copper wire, no bigger than a can of beans, with a heart full of curiosity and courage.

That was the beginning of Weebert’s World, a children’s brand that crosses generations.

A dream that crosses generations

What makes Weebert’s World special is that it’s not just for children,  it’s for adults too. Parents, grandparents, teachers, engineers, dreamers, anyone who’s ever wanted to make something meaningful from what they have.

It’s a world built on imagination, kindness, and creativity. A world that says, “You can make something amazing, even from the scraps.”

And it’s growing.

Entrepreneurs like The Black Farmer, TV personalities like Jeremy Vine, a Dragons’ Den winner, a BAFTA-nominated animation studio, leading figures in licensing, and Theo Paphitis with his Small Business Sunday community,  they all see what we see: a children’s brand that can inspire the next generation while connecting with the grown-ups who nurture them.

We believe in Weebert,  and every day, more people do too.

From the workshop to the classroom

That’s why today’s meeting with the recycling company feels so exciting. The idea of working together on children’s outreach just makes sense, Weebert’s World was born from the spirit of recycling, from seeing possibility where others see waste.

And later, we’ll be back at Coleham School for our after-school club, where robots, chickens, and dinosaurs meet music in one joyful, chaotic adventure! The children’s laughter, their curiosity, and their wild ideas are what keep us going. They remind us that imagination is powerful,  and that fun is often the best way to learn.

These sessions aren’t just about robots. They’re about showing children how creativity, storytelling, and STEM thinking can come together in surprising ways. They remind them that science and art aren’t opposites, they’re partners in play.

For anyone holding onto a dream

If you’ve ever thought it’s too late to start something new, or wondered whether your imagination still has room to grow,  I promise you, it does. We’re living proof that dreams can evolve, at any age, from the most unexpected materials.

Because dreams don’t expire,  they just wait for their moment. Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of scrap, a spark of courage, and the belief that something small can make a big difference.
