From Scrap to Story: Free Stop-Motion Adventures for Kids Who Love to Imagine

From Scrap to Story: Free Stop-Motion Adventures for Kids Who Love to Imagine

If there’s one thing Weebert’s taught us, it’s this: even the smallest spark of imagination can light up a whole world, especially when you’re working with what you’ve got.

Here at Weebert’s World, everything we do is built on scrap. Literally. Andy takes discarded bits, copper wire, broken watch parts, old camera lenses, and turns them into incredible scrap-built robots we call the Berts. I (Lotty) write the stories that bring them to life. And together, we’ve built something magical from very little. We know what it’s like to dream big with a tight budget, and we know we’re not alone.

We meet families, teachers, carers, and early years educators who pour their hearts into giving children the very best they can, often with limited time, money, and resources. That’s why we believe in sharing freely wherever we can. If we can offer a moment of joy, a spark of creativity, or even a few minutes of peace through one of our stories, then we’re doing what we set out to do.

Why we offer free stories and stop motion animations

We know life isn’t always easy. Not everyone has spare money for books or subscriptions. But every child deserves access to stories that stretch their imagination, characters that make them laugh, and worlds where they feel seen. So we offer free stories and stop motion videos on YouTube,  a way for families, schools, and nurseries to enjoy Weebert’s World without spending a penny.

Our latest story, Weebert’s Wheels, is all about perseverance. Weebert is bored (again!) until he spots the most amazing thing: an autobert called Fuzzbert. He’s determined to have one of his own. But before the Maker will build him his dream Bert, he has to complete three tricky challenges. He tries. He struggles. He crashes into a cotton wool cushion. But he doesn’t give up, and in the end, his perseverance pays off.

That story came from a real place. We’ve had so many moments where it would’ve been easier to give up. Where self-doubt, stress, and money worries made us wonder if we could keep going. But we did. And we do. And we believe in helping others do the same, especially the little ones.

The power of “making do”

There’s beauty in not having everything. It teaches children, and adults, to be resourceful. To get creative. To look at an old button or broken toy and think, “What could this become?” That’s the magic of scrap. That’s the heart of Weebert.

So many parents and teachers we speak to are absolute wizards at this. Making cardboard castles, turning bottle tops into counting games, using kitchen roll tubes for science experiments. It’s inspiring. And it’s why we’re proud to be part of that world, offering stories that support play, spark ideas, and show children that being bored isn’t a problem… it’s the beginning of an adventure.

Our promise to you

We’ll keep making stories and stop motion animations that are free to watch. We’ll keep writing with heart. We’ll keep crafting Berts from scrap. And we’ll keep showing children that imagination matters more than money.

If you’re someone who’s doing your best with what you have, we see you. We are you. And we’re with you.

Thank you for being here. If you haven’t already, head over to YouTube and watch Weebert’s Wheels. Share it with your class, your kids, your grandkids, or just enjoy it for yourself with a cuppa and a smile.

Let’s keep making something out of nothing. Let’s keep sparking imagination. Let’s keep going.

With love from the kitchen table,

Lotty
