It’s 7:30am. The washing’s on. The bed’s made. The bathroom’s been blitzed. The dishes are done. And yes, I’m still in my pyjamas—but I’ve already achieved more than I sometimes do in a whole day. If multitasking were an Olympic event, I’d be standing proudly on that podium, clutching a gold medal in one hand and a laundry basket in the other.
Now, before you go thinking I’m naturally sporty—let me stop you right there. Yes, I once ran a half marathon, but that was 12 and a half years ago and frankly, it nearly finished me off. These days, my cardio comes from dashing between a Teams call and a kettle boiling. But juggling? Oh, I’ve got that down.
Next on the list: diving headfirst into Weebert’s World. I’m updating our business plan (again—because our Weebert’s World dream keeps evolving), finessing our marketing plan, uploading all the right things into our SEIS data room, and fitting in a few phone and video calls while I try to remember where I left my notepad (and my coffee).
We’re also prepping for a school visit—storytime with the children and the chance for them to meet the real-life Berts. Honestly, there’s nothing quite like the joy on their faces when they realise robots can be made from “scrap” and imagination and that Weebert is real!!
And because it’s Friday, it’s time for our weekly business meeting—just me and Andy, a table full of figures, open laptops, and our one indulgence: proper coffee cups with saucers. No biscuits—we’re trying to be good!
But here’s the bit I’m holding out for: 16°C and sunshine at lunchtime. That means garden lunch, even if I have to wear a fleece. A little moment of calm, a breath of fresh air, and a few deep breaths before the next round of juggling begins.
So if you’re like me—spinning plates, answering emails, chasing dreams, and occasionally forgetting why you walked into a room—give yourself a moment today. You’re doing amazing.
And let’s be honest… if multitasking were an Olympic sport, you’d be on the podium with me.
