Weebert’s World at Christmas is a grateful reflection on family, grandchildren, creativity, and the Jeremy Vine Show, from a busy home full of love to a moment on national TV.
There’s a particular kind of noise that only happens when a house is full.
It isn’t loud in the shouty sense. It’s layered. Laughter drifting in from another room. Someone asking where the scissors have gone. The clink of mugs. Small feet padding across the floor with very important plans.
This Christmas, our home has been full of that noise. And I know how lucky we are.
At one point I caught my reflection in the mirror and had to laugh. My hair was full of bows, clips and plaits, all carefully placed by a five-year-old and a three-year-old who take their role as hairdressers very seriously. There was concentration. There were opinions. There was absolutely no rush to finish. I sat still and let it happen, because these are the moments you don’t tidy away.
That, to me, is the heart of Weebert’s World.
It has always been about family. Not the picture-perfect version, but the real one. The one with mismatched chairs round the table. The one with hands busy making things. The one where generations overlap, stories are passed on, and nobody minds if things are a bit wonky.
And family looks different for everyone.
For some, it’s a full house like ours has been. For others, it’s one person who shows up. A neighbour. A friend. A chosen family. And if this season feels quiet or heavy for you, please know this. You are thought of. We send our love to you, just as you are, wherever you are reading this.
This Christmas has also been one we’ll never quite believe actually happened.
Standing on the Jeremy Vine show with Andy, with Weebert’s World somehow making its way from our kitchen table to national television, felt surreal in the best possible way. Jeremy was warm, curious and genuinely delighted by Jezbert, the penny-farthing Bert Andy made for him. When Jeremy said he would treasure Jezbert forever, I saw Andy’s face change just a little. Those words matter. Especially when something has been made by hand, from scrap, with care.
Moments like that don’t cancel out the ordinary ones. They sit alongside them.
The bows in my hair. The laughter round the table. Andy pottering in the workshop. The reminder that the most important things are often the quietest, and the ones that don’t come with an audience.
Weebert’s World exists because of all of this. Because family, creativity, kindness and imagination are not extras. They’re the point.
As we head into the rest of Christmas and towards a new year, we’re holding a lot of gratitude. For the people under our roof. For the people cheering us on from afar. For the stories still waiting to be told.
However your Christmas looks, however full or quiet your home feels, we’re glad you’re here with us.
From our family to yours, with love. 💛
