Welcome to Weebert’s World: A Place Where Imagination Still Matters
Somewhere along the way, childhood has become very busy.
Busy schedules.
Busy screens.
Busy expectations.
And yet, when you really listen to children, what they’re often asking for isn’t more.
It’s space.
Space to imagine.
Space to make.
Space to be bored long enough for something interesting to happen.
That’s where Weebert’s World begins.
A world born on a kitchen table
Weebert’s World didn’t start as a brand or a business plan.
It started on a kitchen table, with a little robot no bigger than a can of beans, made from real scrap, a tiny camera, some opera glasses, a tangle of copper wire, and a story.
Andy made the robot.
I wrote the story.
What we noticed straight away was this: when children met Weebert, they leaned in. They asked questions. They wanted to know how he was made. Where he came from. What he might do next.
They didn’t want instructions.
They wanted possibility.
Why imagination needs protecting
Children are natural pattern-seekers. They learn by exploring, testing, noticing, and repeating. Imaginative play isn’t something extra, it’s how young minds make sense of the world.
But imagination needs a few important things to thrive:
-
A sense of safety
-
A world that makes sense
-
Permission to play without being “good” at it
Weebert’s World was created to offer exactly that.
It’s not loud.
It’s not rushed.
It doesn’t demand attention … it earns trust.
And when children feel safe inside a world, their imagination does the rest.
What you can enjoy for free in Weebert’s World
We believe deeply that imagination should never sit behind a paywall. That’s why there’s so much you can access for free on our website.
Whether you’re a parent juggling busy days, a grandparent wanting something meaningful to share, or a carer looking for gentle, creative ideas, Weebert’s World is there to support you.
Here’s what you’ll find:
Story readings
Stories you can listen to together, perfect for quiet moments, bedtime wind-downs, or rainy afternoons. They’re written to be comforting, curious, and easy to return to again and again.
Printable activities
Simple, open-ended activities that encourage children to make, draw, imagine and build, without needing special equipment or perfect results.
Behind-the-scenes making
We show how the Berts are made from scrap. Not as a tutorial to copy, but as an invitation to see value in what’s often overlooked, and to spark ideas of your own.
Gentle prompts for play
Ideas that don’t tell children what to do, but invite them to explore. There’s no right or wrong way. Just curiosity.
Everything is designed to be shared, revisited, and adapted to your own family rhythm.
Owning a piece of Weebert’s World
Some people simply enjoy the stories and free resources, and that’s perfect.
Others feel a connection and want to take it a step further.
That’s where the Berts come in.
Each Bert is a piece of art, handmade by Andy from real scrap, parts that once had another life, reimagined into something full of character and story. No two are the same. Each has a name, a personality, and a place in Weebert’s World.
When someone chooses to own a Bert, they’re not just buying an object.
They’re:
-
Supporting slow, thoughtful making
-
Valuing creativity over perfection
-
Becoming part of a growing story
Many people tell us their Bert sits on a shelf, a desk, or a mantelpiece, not just as decoration, but as a reminder that imagination matters. That it’s okay to play. That beautiful things can come from unlikely beginnings.
A world that grows with you
Weebert’s World isn’t just for children.
It’s for grown-ups who want to slow down.
For grandparents who remember making do.
For carers who understand the power of small, meaningful moments.
It’s a world that crosses generations, because imagination doesn’t have an age limit.
As Weebert’s World grows, our hope is that it becomes a place families return to. A trusted world. One that feels familiar, comforting, and quietly inspiring.
Not because it’s flashy.
But because it feels true.
Come in, take your time
You don’t need to sign up for everything.
You don’t need to buy anything.
You don’t need to “do it right”.
You’re welcome to wander. To read a story. To print an activity. To watch a Bert being made. To simply sit with your child and wonder together.
That’s Weebert’s World.
A place where scrap becomes stories.
Where play is held gently.
And where imagination always has somewhere safe to land.
If you’d like to explore, everything begins on our website.
The kettle’s on are you coming in?
with love
