🤖 What the Heck is Corporate Social Responsibility — and What Does It Have to Do With Flying Robots?
A lot, actually.
CSR (as the serious folk like to call it) is all about how businesses give back, to people, communities, and the planet.
But let’s be honest: sometimes it becomes a tick-box exercise.
You donate to a cause, run a recycling day, maybe visit a school and talk about sustainability. All good things, but do they stick?
Do they light a spark?
Because at Weebert’s World, we believe outreach should do more than tick a box.
It should help a child see themselves differently.
It should open a door to something they never knew existed.
And it can be joyful, funny, imaginative, and yes, a little bit scrap-built.
You can have all the policies, PDFs and pledges in place, but if you want to connect with the next generation, you have to spark something.
And that’s where Weebert’s World comes in.
We don’t just turn up with stories and scrap-built robots (though we do that, and the kids love it).
We help children see themselves, often for the very first time, as creators, problem-solvers, inventors, and engineers.
And we help companies do more than tick a CSR box.
We help them create real, lasting impact in their community.
🧠 Why industry needs imagination in its outreach
If you’re in engineering, aerospace, recycling, or any other STEM field, you probably already know the stats:
Skills shortages. Lack of diversity. Too few young people choosing these careers.
But here’s what many outreach programmes miss:
💡 Children don’t just need information. They need inspiration.
They need to see it. To touch it. To play their way into it.
And that’s exactly what we do at Weebert’s World.
🤖 Meet the Berts
Our characters are scrap-built robots with names like Weebert, Tweebert, and Skidoobedoobert.
Each one is made from real aviation parts, old tools, Cold War cameras and vintage clock springs, and each one has a story.
They’re not just sculptures.
They’re a bridge between industry and imagination.
And when we bring them into schools, we see children light up. They ask questions. They imagine themselves building, solving, creating.
That’s not outreach. That’s legacy-building.
🛠️ What we offer companies like yours
We partner with businesses to deliver tailored, high-impact CSR experiences in primary schools, often for Reception to Year 4.
Here’s how it works:
🎒 School visits featuring the Berts
We bring real robot sculptures made from scrap. (No, not pictures. The real thing. Cue amazed faces and lots of “Can I touch it?”)
📚 Weebert adventure stories with Lotty
Imaginative tales of flight, creativity and curiosity, with STEM woven in through storytelling.
🧠 Make Your Own Bert sessions
Children design and build their own robot from safe materials, and in doing so, begin to see themselves as inventors and creators.
🔧 Tailored activities linked to your industry
In aerospace? We explore flight.
In recycling? We turn “rubbish” into robots.
In engineering? We challenge children to design a problem-solving Bert of their own.
Everything is aligned with your values and sector, and delivered with play, purpose, and creativity at the core.
🧩 Why it works – for you and them
✅ It positions your company as a champion of young futures
✅ It strengthens your local reputation and community roots
✅ It helps address long-term skills gaps and diversity in STEM
✅ It gives you real, joyful impact stories to share with stakeholders and staff
✅ It leaves children inspired — and more open to careers they’d never considered
“Imagine the child who never thought they could be an engineer…
Until your company brought the Berts to their school.”
That’s impact.
That’s the kind of outreach they’ll remember.
🤝 We’re with you all the way
We’re based in Shropshire and happy to travel (within reason!) across the UK to deliver sessions that spark imagination, support curriculum goals, and show young learners what’s possible.
With Andy’s 43 years in aviation and my background in storytelling and the public sector, we understand how to bring industry and creativity together in a way that’s joyful, hands-on, and lasting.
We recently delivered a session at Shrewsbury High School, where the teachers told us:
“The girls absolutely loved the robots and imaginative stories. They were so engaged and inspired, one girl even started writing her own robot adventure story!”
And from a parent afterwards:
“There was a real leap in her imagination, she couldn’t stop creating and inventing all evening, and days later, she’s still at it!”
That’s the kind of ripple effect we aim to create, with story, scrap, and a little spark of Weebert magic.
📩 Let’s light a spark together
We’re now partnering with a limited number of companies to deliver outreach that actually means something.
🧠 One school visit.
🤝 One story.
💛 One child who sees their future differently.
