When the House Falls Quiet After Christmas. A Weebert’s World Reflection

A gentle Christmas reflection from Weebert’s World on family, gratitude, creativity and the quiet moments after the house falls still.

There’s a particular moment after Christmas that always catches me out.
The wrapping paper is gone.
The fridge is full of leftovers.
And the house, once bursting with laughter,  suddenly feels very still.

Our grandchildren have gone home now. No more tiny voices calling from the next room. No more spontaneous games or whispered secrets. Just the quiet hum of normal life returning.

And in that quiet, I’ve been reflecting.

This Christmas reminded me how much meaning lives in the ordinary. Sitting together. Making things. Listening. Laughing until your sides ache. These moments don’t feel grand at the time, but they’re the ones that stay.

It’s why Weebert’s World exists at all.
Not to shout.
Not to rush.
But to give children, and grown-ups, permission to slow down, play, and imagine again.

This year also gave us a moment we never expected. Being invited onto the Jeremy Vine Show was extraordinary. Not because of the cameras or the studio lights, but because it showed us that a small, handmade idea born at a kitchen table can travel far when it’s rooted in heart.

This week, Jeremy sent us a photo of Jezbert settled into his new home. Seeing that little scrap-built character resting there felt symbolic somehow, proof that when you create with care, people don’t just see it… they keep it.

As the year closes, I’m realising that gratitude isn’t just about big wins. It’s about noticing what’s already working. The relationships. The stories. The moments of connection we so often rush past.

If this Christmas has taught me anything, it’s that imagination doesn’t need noise to thrive. Sometimes it needs quiet. Space. A pause.

Thank you for being here. For following our story. For believing that scrap can become stories,  and that those stories matter.

From our family to yours, wherever and however you spent Christmas, we’re grateful you’re part of Weebert’s World ❤️

with love
