Woke Up on Monday and Found… The Door Still Open

It’s Monday morning. I’m up early.. 5am! Yes I’m one of those annoying morning people! coffee in hand, ready to start another day of believing in Weebert!

Do you know what I woke up thinking today?

The door’s still open.

And that’s enough.

You see, we don’t always talk about the middle bit of building something. We love a good “started from nothing, now we’re here” story. But what about the bit in-between—the part where you’re still in your kitchen (with a cup of lukewarm coffee), balancing dreams, spreadsheets, and school visit prep?

That’s where I am. That’s where Weebert’s World is right now. And yet, every single day we work on it—writing stories, filming stop-motion clips, packing up Berts for school visits, updating pitch decks—we are building something bigger than ourselves.

The truth is, we don’t always see the benefit right away. There’s no applause for rewriting a paragraph five times or fixing the lighting for a five-second animation. No one sends you a gold star when you finally tick off “follow up on SEIS paperwork” (though honestly, someone should).

But those small things? They matter.

They are moving us forward, inch by inch. Even when it feels like half a step. Even when I question whether we’re making progress or just treading water with robot feet.

We keep going because we believe in Weebert’s World. Not just as a children’s TV show or a book series, but as a spark. Weebert—the little robot made of scrap and imagination—represents something more.

He stands for possibility.

He says to kids: “Yes, you can make something. You can create, you can build, you can try.”

And isn’t that what we all need to hear sometimes?

We’ve had some amazing moments lately—school visits where the children’s faces lit up when they met the Berts, teachers telling us they’ve never seen their class so inspired, parents sending us messages like: “My daughter hasn’t stopped inventing since meeting Weebert.”

Honestly, I get teary thinking about it. Because this started as something we created to help Andy with his mental health. He built the first Berts in the shed from old helicopter parts and scrap bits people were throwing out. I saw characters in them—personalities, stories, potential. And now? They’re making their way into children’s imaginations across the UK.

But we’re still in that middle part. The graft. The quiet building. The “just keep showing up” phase.

And every morning I wake up, stretch, feed the chickens (with Egbert supervising, obviously), and sit down to chip away at the dream. Some days we move a little faster. Some days I stare at a blank page and wonder if the robots would write a better blog.

But the door? The opportunity? The dream? It’s still open. Still waiting.

So if you’ve woken up on a Monday feeling stuck, tired, overwhelmed, or wondering if what you’re doing even matters—I get it. I really do.

But here’s the thing I’ve learned (and am still learning): the work you’re doing today—even if it’s just a sliver of progress—is part of something that matters.

So keep going. Keep building. Keep believing in your version of Weebert.

Because the door is still open. And we are walking through it, one wonky, wonderful, slightly squeaky robot step at a time.
