Well, this is awkward. Yesterday, I enthusiastically blogged about making the most of every moment, staying productive, and seizing the day. Then reality knocked on my door, and I did precisely none of those things.
Instead, the dreaded “bleugh” descended upon me—no energy, no direction, and definitely no productivity. I spent the day drifting aimlessly between the sofa, the fridge, and my guilt, feeling pretty rubbish about not achieving anything useful.
But then something occurred to me: I’m Lotty, I’m human, and not some supercharged productivity robot (though how cool would that be?). Everyone needs a bit of “hippo time” occasionally—a wonderful phrase borrowed from Paul McGee (the SUMO guy, definitely worth a read)—which simply means allowing yourself to wallow, recharge, and just be kind to yourself.
That was yesterday. Today? The sun is shining, my garden is waiting, and I’m ready to feel human again. I’ll soak up some sun, reconnect with the earth beneath my feet, and get back on track.
If you’re feeling a bit “bleugh” yourself, please remember—it’s perfectly okay. Take your hippo time, recharge, and come back stronger.
We’ve got this.
